I'm pleased to share a recent and exciting development here at West Coast Sailing. Anyone who has visited our location over the last few years probably realized that we have outgrown our current space. For those of you we've talked to on the phone or through email, let me tell you we're at full capacity! What started out as a one person business, operating in a leaky corner of a warehouse with the help of some friends, has grown into a business with full time customer service, sales, and fulfillment departments. This is thanks to wonderful customers like you who have entrusted us to take care of your dinghy sailing needs. We're still the responsive and nimble business we have always been, but the time is right to upgrade our facilities to better serve our customers.
Starting February 13, 2012, West Coast Sailing will have a new home! This upgrade moves us from a 6,000sq ft space to a building with over 35,000 sq ft. Customers can expect to see more boats on display, more inventory, and expanded showrooms. Plus, our staff will have real office space to call home! On top of all that, we're just 2 blocks away from our old warehouse. We're in the same neighborhood, same phone number, still centrally located and on main shipping lines for all our domestic and international customers. Our new location will improve the customer's experience and the efficiency of our operation. It will also ensure we have very low overhead costs, which allows us to continue to stock hundreds of thousands of dollars in small sailboat parts, pieces, apparel and boats.
Over the next few weeks you'll see lots of announcements to help spread the word. Our new address is:
West Coast Sailing
433 N Thompson St.
Portland, OR 97227
At the end of the day, a warehouse is a warehouse. What is inside is what counts. I am so very fortunate to have a dedicated team of co-workers who share the same passion and focus on supporting dinghy sailors. The customer relationships forged over the years make the chaos and stress of a warehouse move seem almost trivial. We welcome this opportunity to serve more of our friends and fellow sailors, and we look forward to seeing many of you in our new shop and out on the water soon.
Very Sincerely Yours,
President & Owner
West Coast Sailing, Inc.
We will be closed Friday 2/10 and Saturday 2/11 in order to make the move as fast and smooth as possible. We'll reopen at our new location on Monday 2/13!
P.S. You'll be seeing us start to phase in our new website in about two weeks at WestCoastSailing.com!
