LEAD KAYAK SALESPERSON

                                                                                                 

West Coast Sailing’s mission is to get more people on the water.  We help our customers enjoy their free time by providing the best products, service, and advice and we get tremendous satisfaction from sharing our passion and supporting customers who are both local and in far corners of the world.  Our dedication to this cause has rewarded our business with steady growth, each of the last twelve years.  As we grow, new team members are needed to lead new sales channels and to help more customers own the water.

The Lead Kayak Salesperson is in charge of selling Hobie kayaks and kayak accessories.  This is a new product category at West Coast Sailing and you have the opportunity to build this category from the ground up.  You will sell products to customers in our store, on the phone, via email, and at events.  As the leader of this segment of products, you will also execute longer term sales and marketing plans. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our kayak sales efforts with hands-on selling and sales segment management
  • Field kayak sales inquiries and provide information, pricing, and advice
  • Plan and execute events such as demo days, kayak club outings, and boat shows
  • Help produce content and resources, such as videos, newsletters, and social media updates
  • Manage a seasonal kayak sales employee

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • Passion for paddle sports
  • 1+ year(s) of retail sales and/or customer service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work some weekends
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs to shoulder height

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary plus commissions

OUTSIDE SALES                                                                                                                            

West Coast Sailing’s mission is to get more people on the water.  We help our customers enjoy their free time by providing the best products, service, and advice and we get tremendous satisfaction from sharing our passion and supporting customers who are both local and in far corners of the world.  Our dedication to this cause has rewarded our business with steady growth, each of the last twelve years.  As we grow, new team members are needed so we can help more customers own the water.

An Outside Salesperson is a meaningful, new addition for our Sales Team.  We are looking for an experienced salesperson who shares our passion, knows how to ask for the sale, and can collaborate with other sales and marketing staff on a variety of prospecting efforts and sales campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell existing West Coast Sailing products to new customers
    • Boats (50%)
    • Parts, apparel, and accessories (35%)
    • Support other Sales Team functions during peak times (15%)

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • Passion for water recreation
  • Sailing experience desired, but not required
  • Previous sales experience (2+ years)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (many sales are via email and phone)
  • Ability to work some weekends
  • Understanding of Google Suite and Microsoft Office, strong email and computer skills
