Summary

The Bladerider RX is the most affordable high performance carbon fibre hydrofoil Moth on the market and is aimed at newcomers that want to get into foiling or Moth racing.

The all new VRX uses the same proven hull shape from the two-time World Champion X8, but has a completely new layup and build process, which reduces the weight and add performance.

Construction

After selling, sailing and supporting over 220 autoclaved X8's, Bladerider has develope keen eye for what customers demand in a high performance foiler. All current Bladerider models are built around the same proven hull shape as the Bladerider X8: ie 3.355m in overall length with a fine bow, straight rocker, flat bottom, square chines and low freeboard. The volume has been kept in the stern for a cleaner lift-off. All new models are guilt to aerospace AS9100 and ISO9001 build standards, a first in the boat building industry

Hull Design:

The RX has been built to a Proposed 15kg hull and 35kg all up weight - only slightly heavier than the X8 but much stronger and more robust

Vacuum infused 3k carbon foam sandwich hull with a black gel-coat finish and a aluminium wing cover track. The cockpit grip is an aggressive non-slip material, stuck on for easy replacement later on if necessary.

All RX Models come with a white gel coat finish - extremely durable and resistant to body impacts and sun exposure.

Autoclaved pre-preg 3k carbon hull with a clear 3k carbon finish - minimal clear coating necessary due to a smoother finish after cooking

The military precision autoclave hull cooking process leads to a hull weight of under 10kg and an all up weight around 30kg!

Optional Spinlock control line fittings and brackets - allowing for easier uncleating

Wing Frame:

The new carbon tube wing frame with moulded corners not only helps reduce the overall cost of the boat, but it also improves the durability and stiffness of the whole structure dramatically. The wing covers will be a similar style to the X8 and made from the same reliable Dacron material with internal air bags to help beginners with capsize recovery. In addition the unique self-tensioning design, allows for a very quick assembly out of the box.

Hydrofoils:

Black two piece, high-lift pre-preg carbon hydrofoils fitted to pre-preg carbon centerboard and rudder, purpose-designed for lowest drag and maximum lift in speed range 5-26 knots.

Supplied with our current F40 (MkII) hydrofoils as used to win the 2008 World Championships. Rudder Gantry:

The supplied gantry will be made from anodised aluminium tubes. The expected weight will be very similar to the carbon gantry on the X8, but much stronger and stiffer.

Mast & Boom:

A stiffer 50mm mast is supplied giving more power and better control of the head in the sail. The gooseneck of the boom has also been improved for better fitting and clearing of the downhaul pulleys.

100% carbon boom and 50mm mast (around 10% stiffer than normal), but can be optioned up to the CST narrow mast (choice of three stiffnesses) and oval shaped boom (around 80% stiffer than normal).

Sail:

Comes with a one design 8.0m Bladerider sail (International Moth compliant) made from X-ply and Dacron. The sail material and finish has been dramatically improved in 2008 to give a smoother sail shape and make it longer lasting. Boats can also be provided without a sail or upgraded to a North race sail if desired.

Spreaders:

The supplied spreaders/prodder will be made from anodised aluminium tubes. The expected weight will be very similar to the carbon spreaders on the X8 but far greater strength and reliability.

Rope & Fittings:

Complete Ronstan fitout including new Orbit mainsheet blocks, and high load s/s vang blocks along with FSE Robline ropes, including Dynemma mainsheet and better colour coding.

Foil Covers:

Includes free hydrofoil covers plus for a limited time, free top cover, mast cover, boom cover and spreaders cover.

Trolley:

The boat comes with an all new alloy trolley with quick elastic hooks.

Shipping Box:

Base price includes a reusable shipping box (measuring 350x73x41cms), that fits everything (including covers and sailing gear) inside.
