O'pen Bic

The O’pen Bic allows young sailors to experience the dynamic and exciting sailing experience of a fast, planing hull, while still offering stability and ease of use. The hull has a very stable design that can be combined with a variety of sail options to accommodate different levels of sailors. The O’pen Bic allows young sailors to easily transition from the stable, ridged hull of the Opti to that of modern dinghies such as the Laser.

Hull

* Manufactured of thermoformed polyethylene, the rotomolded construction is highly durable, maintenance free, and 100% recyclable
* 100% self-draining open cockpit (hence the name O’pen Bic)
* Chine bilge design allows the boat to heel and remain balanced on the bilge, creating greater stability on both sides. This design also turns the hull immediately into the wind upon capsize
* Fast, planing hull
* Integrated carrying handles
* Designed by Vitali Design and BIC Sport

Sail Options

* Standard rig includes a 4.5m2, full roach, fully-battened, clear mylar mainsail that opens easily in strong gusts
* A 3.8m2, fully-battened, dacron mainsail is also available for smaller sailors
* The O’pen Bic hull also easily accommodates an Opti sprit rig and sail, allowing young sailors to use a rig they are familiar with, but also experience the fun of a planing hull.
* The epoxy mast is light and reacts easily to various wind conditions

Blades

* Shaped daggerboard
* Liftable rudder is very easy to handle

Rigging

* Hardware mounted on automatic snaphooks allowing for quick and easy set-up time
* Cunningham tackle (6 threads + cleat)
* Mainsheet tackle (3 threads + ratchet block)
* Ratchet Block
