Since West Coast Sailing opened in 2005, giving back has been a huge part of the company. It is our belief that the more successful a sailor, event, or group can be, the more our sport can grow. Our industry and community of dinghy sailors is too small it have it any other way. Over the years we've been able to increase our contributions of time and money, supporting sailors both here in the Northwest and in the larger sailing community. Outside the office, our staff donates hundreds of hours a year to run events, coach, and montor. Please know that your support of our company and mission makes this possible and allows us to continue giving back to causes that directly impact small boat sailing. We're honored to have worked with so many outstanding sailors and are proud to share those experiences with you.
Title Sponsorship - Isabella Bertold and "Sailing Towards Rio"
West Coast Sailing has committed to a four year sponsorship of Canadian Sailing Team member Isabella Bertold. This includes a new boat, sails, gear, and anything else she may need to sail her best. Over the next four years, Isabella will be working towards winning a World Championship and a medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Isabella is an outstanding sailor and individual, both on and off the water, and we're proud to support her. We're excited to follow her progress and invite you to do the same by visiting her website - http://isabellabertold.com/
West Coast Sailing 2013 Ambassadors
The goal of the West Coast Sailing Ambassador Program is to select several sailors who exhibit both talent and a Corinthian spirit in their passion to achieve notable sailing success. We're pleased to have the following sailors on-board this year.
Hanne WeaverHanne is a Laser Radial sailor from Seattle, WA. Over the last few years we've seen her transition from a successful local sailor to a force on the national scene. She's competed in the U.S. Sailing Youth Champs, U.S Women's Champs, Miami OCR, and other national events. Keep up the good work Hanne!
Christine NevilleChristine hails from the San Francisco Bay area and also sails the Laser Radial. A relative newcomer to Laser sailing, Christine has worked hard and already found great success on the racecourse. She's competed in numerous regattas around the country and has taken on the world scene with a great performance at the 2012 Laser Radial Worlds in Boltenhagen, Germany.
